- Preparation of land use applications and obtaining permits.
These include annexation, urban growth boundary amendment, comprehensive plan amendment,
zone change, conditional use permit, variance, building permit and land division.
- Client liaison for obtaining permits from local and regional governments including
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Division of State Lands, DEQ and ODOT.
- Development of strategies to build consensus and provide technical support for local land use issues.
- Managing consultant teams while in due diligence, land use exploration and permit processes.
- Research for permitting and land use issues particularly during complaints and litigation.
- Obtaining real estate appraisals; providing due diligence; and managing preparation of environmental
reviews, wetland assessments, easement agreements and real estate transactions.
Project Accomplishments:
- Provided land use planning and permitting consultation for Lincoln County residents for 10 yrs.
- Obtained federal, state and local permits and state leases for Fred Wahl Marine Construction at Sturgeon Bend and Depot Slough in Toledo, Oregon.
- Obtained all permits and provided land development planning and negotiations for building of 500,000 sq. ft. (over $50 million) headquarters and $2 million of off-site improvements for Mentor Graphics Corporation. Negotiator and liaison with city staff and utilities on construction and site issues.
- Managed a staff acquiring land use and transportation planning and permit approvals for the Port of Portland's 10,000 acre properties.
- Provided the primary link with both city and county governments on land and facility issues for the Port of Portland. Prepared the Rivergate Development Plan for the largest industrial park in the Portland metro area.
- Coordinated and managed planning for waterways-related projects, such as deepening of the mouth of the Columbia River, construction of the newest Bonneville Lock, analysis of navigation studies; recreation boating and towboater liaison; obtained waterways, local, state and federal permits; managed dredging issues, and waterway safety.
